Coats & Bennett, PLLC is proud to recognize that Senior Patent Attorney, William G. Pagán,  has been named to the 2017 NC Pro Bono Honor Society.

This honor is given by the NC Pro Bono Resource Center (PBRC) to all NC attorneys who reported providing more than 50 hours of pro bono legal services in 2017 without expectation of a fee.  The NC PBRC was established to expand access to civil legal representation for people of low income and modest means across NC.

The NC PBRC is the latest in a long line of organizations to honor Mr. Pagán’s substantial and valuable contributions to the fields in which he practices.  In addition to being an honored Pro Bono volunteer, award-winning patent attorney, and law school valedictorian, he is also a nationally-recognized engineer, tech-industry veteran, and Master Inventor.  Indeed, over 130 patent applications have been filed in the United States alone to protect the technical contributions Mr. Pagán has made to the tech sector.

Mr. Pagán primarily practices patent law with a substantial technical focus on software, computing devices, wireless telecommunications, network routing, and systems management. Other technical areas include cloud computing, virtualization, user interfaces, multimedia streaming/processing, databases, medical devices, and industrial control systems, to name a few.
