A named inventor on over 130 patent applications, Mr. Pagán is a 14-year veteran of the tech industry appointed the title of Master Inventor by both IBM Systems and Technology Group and IBM Corporate Headquarters.  Nationally-recognized as a Hispanic Luminary at the Hispanic Engineering National Achievement Awards Conference in 2007, Mr. Pagán has significant technical expertise in software, computers, telecommunications, consumer electronics, systems management, & related fields. His work on integrating the hardware, software, and firmware of IBM’s Intel-based Thurley-chipset server platforms earned him an Outstanding Technical Achievement award from IBM in 2010.  That same year, he was also honored by IBM as their RTP Inventor of the Year.

Mr. Pagán's illustrious career is marked by committed volunteer service and mentorship, for which he was admitted into the NC Pro Bono Honor Society in 2017.  Among other things, Mr. Pagán volunteers as a decorated Captain in the Legal Officer Corps of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP), United States Air Force Auxiliary, in which he is responsible for managing the legal affairs of CAP throughout NC as it conducts emergency service, aerospace education, and youth programs.  He is also a life member of both the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and the North Carolina Society of Hispanic Professionals.

Mr. Pagán is a graduate of NCCU Law’s Evening Program, from which he graduated as its valedictorian, summa cum laude.  His law degree compliments his Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Computer Science, all of which inform his patent practice and inure to the benefit of his clients.

“NC Central is truly a special place that has always gone above and beyond to support its talented students, faculty, and alumni.  I am proud of the long legacy this school has in enhancing access to education, and serving the under-served.  I hope to continue to bring honor to NC Central through excellence in my craft, and invariably merit this esteemed recognition.”
